The Morton Arboretum celebrates all things outdoors! The mission of The Morton Arboretum is to “collect and study trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world.” Since 1922, they have maintained living collections for visitors to enjoy.

Founded by the same family that owns The Morton Salt Company, the arboretum is vast and could occupy you and your family for hours. There are multiple gardens on the property, all with a different focus. There’s a container garden, a maze made with living shrubs and bushes, an herb garden, a fragrance garden, and more.

They also offer a variety of special programs for adults and children, ranging from educational opportunities about conservation efforts, to an in depth study of frogs! There are special events throughout the year too! The lights at Christmas are not to be missed, and you can even have your child’s next birthday party here!

However you choose to spend your time at The Morton Arboretum, we know you’ll leave feeling more connected to the world around you.
