Sometimes, in the middle of a busy urban area like Chicago, you find a natural wonderland where the cars, skyscrapers, and hustle and bustle of city life feels far away. This is exactly what you’ll discover when you visit North Pond Nature Sanctuary in Lincoln Park.

North Pond is a nature sanctuary that was restored in 1999, and has been carefully preserved and tended to ever since in an effort to create a thriving natural space for plants and animals native to our region. The 15 acres are supported by the Chicago Park District and the Lincoln Park Conservancy, and they continually maintain the pond and plant life making it a beautiful space to enjoy when you want to relax a bit.  Continued conservation efforts are in the works to create a natural space for 100+ years.

There are events held here frequently if you want to learn more about this space, including Wildflower Walks beginning in May, and an eventual Natural Playscape is in the works for children to enjoy. Bring the family to enjoy, or leisurely wander solo and enjoy this hidden treasure!
