Our lives are stressful and busy, and sometimes the best way to rejuvenate can be to get outside and surround yourself with the natural world. The park is known for its scenic trails, over six miles worth! And of course the naturally formed caves. The park contains more than any other state park in Iowa, so if you’re interested in the geology of these formations, this is the park to visit. The trails link the caves, any many of the pathways have been recently worked on, making them safer and easier to navigate, even for the novice outdoorsman. While you’re out there, keep an eye out for some of the highlights- including Natural Bridge, and Balanced Rock, along with all the wildlife that call this place home.  Sometimes these animals are easiest to spot during the colder months, so pick a warmer winter day to explore the grounds!

In addition to the hiking and overlooks, there are opportunities for camping and the Interpretive Center offers chances to learn about the history of the land and its previous inhabitants. It's the perfect place to take the family, so get out there and explore!
