After a long winter spent indoors, we’re craving outdoor time! If you’re looking for a place to explore this spring, plan a trip to Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines! You’ll encounter some amazing animals, interactive exhibits, and you’ll learn something new while you and your family have fun! Blank Park’s mission is to inspire an appreciation of the natural world. They accomplish this through education, conservation efforts, and through periodic recreational activities held at the zoo.

The animals are, of course, the highlight of any trip to the zoo, and Blank Park has lots creatures to excite you! A red panda, sea lions, tortoises, giraffes, tigers, and some less familiar animals too, including a golden-headed tamarin! Frequently you’ll encounter guest speakers who can tell you even more about the animals you see, or find any of the knowledgeable employees to learn more.

The zoo also hosts seasonal special events, including the upcoming Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt, and the Monarch Festival held later in September. These events are a fun way to get more involved. Take advantage and plan a visit today! It’s the perfect time to get outside again!
