The thrill of a competitive race is invigorating, and it can excite even the novice runner. But, if you’re the kind of athlete who needs a little extra motivation to get yourself moving, the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K, happening this Sunday, October 30 in Grant Park in Chicago, is the race for you!
The Hot Chocolate race has everything serious runners like: a beautiful and well-plotted course through the city, chip timing, wave starts, and awards for top finishers. But the race also provides a festive and light-hearted atmosphere for first-time racers, too, making it the perfect event for all of your friends and family.
Best of all, after you’ve worked hard to finish strong, relax with fellow racers as you enjoy all things chocolate! Each racer receives a goodie bag and the chance to enjoy some delicious chocolate fondue. The chocolate is top-of-the-line and free of allergens, so it’s safe for everyone. Dip bananas, rice krispie treats, strawberries, marshmallows and more into the decadent dessert. You've earned it after your hard work on the course!
Not only is this a fun outing for the whole family to enjoy, but most importantly, the race fees benefit Ronald McDonald House charity whose mission is to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing a ‘home away from home’ while their child is being treated in the hospital.
This event combines lots of things to love: chocolate, running, the city, and an awesome charity. Run fast, and eat up! Follow along with us on Instagram for more ways to get your out and about in Chicago this fall!
