Sometimes the hot and humid summer days call for a quality and enjoyable indoor family activity as much as the Chicago winters. Even when the weather is nice though, a place like the DuPage Children's Museum has enough activities to satisfy everyone in your crew!

Sitting right near downtown Naperville, this children's museum has things for kids of every age to enjoy, and more often than not, the adults too. It's separated into a variety of rooms and play areas, so the kids can easily spend time in one place contentedly, or they can roam through all that the museum has to offer. There's a wood shop where kids can build using their imaginations, a wind tunnel where children can investigate wind speed and direction, and areas just for the littlest ones in your family to play. Explore music, and light and water and electricity! There’s some complex science behind each of these exhibits, so children are learning and playing at the same time, and the exhibits will satisfy a wide variety of ages. This museum is a fantastic place for sparking the curiosity in your child and giving them a chance to cultivate it through play that is not just fun, but that promotes learning at the same time.

Be sure to check it out this summer, and as always follow the hashtag #outandaboutwithcompass on Instagram for even more ideas to get out out and exploring Chicagoland this summer!
