Christmas is a time to celebrate family traditions.  These customs we share with our loved ones remind us of what's important, and they allow us to reflect on our past while looking hopefully to the future.  This year, start a new tradition of your own with your family while you observe and learn about the traditions of other cultures around the world by visiting the Museum of Science and Industry's Christmas Around the World exhibit!

The museum is world-class, located on Chicago's museum campus downtown.  Throughout the year they offer exhibits to explore that will intrigue and educate, but there's something really special and festive about this one!  Since 1942, the museum has housed trees, all decorated by volunteers, which represent holiday traditions from around the world.  This year, view over 50 trees and displays which span four floors of the museum! There's also holiday performances to take in, and of course, the other exhibits to view, so plan to be there awhile! It's a one-of-a-kind holiday experience you won't find anywhere else.

Visit the museum website for additional details and tell us about your experience when you visit by sharing your photos on Instagram.  Use the hashtag #outandaboutwithcompass!
