School is out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean the learning has to end! If you want to take a step back in time, visit Blackberry Farm in Aurora, where learning and fun meet!

Blackberry Farm is a living history museum which recreates what pioneer life was like long ago through hands-on activities. There’s so much to see here, so be sure to plan for a full day of fun. Children will love exploring the various buildings which have all been carefully replicated to mimic what they would have looked like in the 1800s. Inside these buildings you will see everything from wax candle dipping to quilting demonstrations. There’s a blacksmith hammering new metal creations and even a one-room schoolhouse so kids can see just how much things have changed!

Don’t leave without visiting the Discovery Barn where kids can touch the sheep, goats and chickens that were so central to life on the farm. There’s also a large playground featuring a zip line! What fun!  This is a family activity you can feel good about!
